To AUMC Members:
“The Listening and Learning Task Force” will meet at 4:30pm on Sunday, March 26, to finalize its report to the Auburn UMC Administrative Board as requested 7 days after the completion of the Auburn UMC Informational Meetings. This report will include an extensive compilation of all the comments that we received from over 600 members who attended the sessions on Monday evening and Tuesday morning and completed the survey. We do, however, have preliminary results of the three major questions that were included in the survey. The following are the verified results from members of the Auburn UMC congregation:
- Enter the formal Discernment Process to Consider Disaffiliation – 380 (61%)
- Stay a United Methodist Church – 225 (36%)
- Need More Information / No Choice – 20 (3%)
The Final Report of the Listening and Learning Task Force will be sent to the Administrative Board for their consideration no later than Tuesday, March 28.
Respectfully,
All Members of the Listening and Learning Task Force
**In the issue of The Village Methodist, sent March 23, 2023 at 4pm, there was an error in the message from The Listening and Learning Task Force. The stated results included correct numbers, but incorrect percentages. Please see the correct percentages above.**
