Youth Ministry

Auburn UMC Youth Ministry's mission is to build a Christ-centered community that makes disciples and equips students to grow in their relationships with Jesus as they make God's love visible in the world. We offer a variety of discipleship activities including worship, fellowship, small group bible study, mission projects, and annual retreats.

Our Core Values | Colossians 3:1-3

“Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.”

Auburn UMC Youth welcomes all students in rising grades 7-12. Everyone is always invited, regardless of where they worship on Sundays, and encouraged to bring a friend! The Youth Center is located in the Epworth Building at 137 South Gay Street in downtown Auburn, Alabama.

Happening Now in Youth Ministry

Sunday Mornings: Youth Sunday School

Sunday School meets at 9:45 am. Join us in the Youth Room (C179) at 9:15 for snacks and hanging out, then a Bible lesson.

Sunday Evenings: The Bridge

Small groups at The Bridge offer ongoing opportunities for connection and discipleship. Join us 5-7pm for a snack supper followed by small group Bible study and recreation, plus a lot of fun and fellowship! Supper cost is $5.

We welcome new and returning students to The Bridge, regardless of where they worship on Sunday mornings. Everyone is always welcome!

Tuesday Morning Devo

Join us for Morning Studies at Chick-fil-A (326 W. Magnolia Ave.) at 7am on Tuesday mornings. Buy your breakfast, and then we’ll have a short devotion. After the devotion, we’ll drive students to ESS or AJHS. AHS and non-ACS students will drive themselves or catch a ride to school with another student.

Wednesdays: Midweek

Join us for Midweek in the youth center every Wednesday between 4-8pm for hanging out, supper, worship, and an activity. We’ll open the Youth Center at 4pm and have supper at 5:30pm. Students are welcome to have dinner with us at 5:30pm for $5. Younger students who would like to go downtown to eat dinner/buy food should be dropped off downtown before walking to the church for Midweek.

M25 Atlanta Youth Mission Trip: Registration is open!

Registration is open! The M25 Registration and Information form can be downloaded HERE or a paper copy can be picked up in the youth room. If you would prefer that a registration form emailed to you, please email Jill at jillp@aumc.net. M25 is for rising 8th grade students – incoming college freshman. The trip will be June 2-7, 2024. This trip is a mission program designed to bring students together to serve God by serving others. M25 focuses less on manual labor and more on relational ministry as students get a rare chance to meet, get to know, and minister to people from a different side of life.

Senior Sunday: May 5, 2024

Our Senior Sunday will be Sunday, May 5 at the 11am worship service in the sanctuary; family and friends are invited. Reminder: seniors should bring their caps and gowns to wear during worship! There will be no cost for this event, but we do need to know how many people to expect.  Register your high school senior for Senior Sunday HERE no later than Monday, April 22. We look forward to celebrating these amazing seniors with you!

Parents, don’t forget about uploading photos of your senior for the senior video, which is always a highlight of Senior Sunday! We are asking for seven (7) pictures per senior from their early years through elementary school, junior high and high school, including their yearbook senior portrait. After you have registered for Senior Sunday, you will receive a confirmation email with a Dropbox link to upload your senior’s photos (a Dropbox account is not required). All photos should be uploaded by the end of the day on Monday, April 22.

Before the service on May 5, seniors and their families will gather in the Youth Center (C179 in the Epworth Building) at 10am, where we will have coffee, juice, and pastries for everyone. This will be the time for seniors to sign the photo mats that will go in the frame each senior will receive for the group photo we will take before worship. At 10:45am seniors will walk to the front steps of the Sanctuary on Magnolia Avenue, and we will take a group photo of the seniors in their caps and gowns. At the beginning of the service, seniors will process as a group into the sanctuary and sit together in the reserved pews in the front.

If your senior is unable to attend Senior Sunday on May 5, please know that all seniors are invited to a Midweek Senior Celebration on Wednesday evening, May 8. This will be an opportunity to celebrate the time our seniors have spent with us and give them the chance to share any words of wisdom they might have for younger students! Seniors will participate in our worship together at 6:15pm, with a grad party to follow from 7-8pm; no reservations required.
