This ministry collects soap, lotion, shampoo, deodorant, etc. to be given to service agencies and/or community organizations. Travel size items, which are best, can be turned in at the reception desk in the Mathison Building or in the bins in Hamill Court.
This ministry is held on the fourth Monday of each month from 6:00 – 7:30pm at the government-assisted living facility. Volunteers serve refreshments, assist players with Bingo and visit with the residents.
This group meets the first Thursday of each month at 1:00pm in the Conference Room, Room B-160. As the volunteers knit or crochet the shawls or lap covers, they pray for the recipient, who is usually someone with an extended or serious illness or someone who has experienced a loss. Men and women are needed to deliver the shawls.
This group meets the second Monday and fourth Thursday of each month 9:00am-12:00pm in the Annex, Room D102. The Monday group makes items for infants. The Thursday group makes children’s dresses and shorts for mission trips.
A Bible Study for Oak Park Apartment residents is held each Thursday at 10:00am. Substitute teachers are needed. A worship service is held the third Thursday of each month at 3:00pm at Oak Park for Health Care residents. Volunteers play the piano, assist with tasks and visit with residents.
A week-long trip is done annually, usually in February or March. Participants conduct Bible Schools, assist with construction, painting and distribute reading glasses. Comfortable living quarters make the trip easier for older adults. Though sponsored by the Missions Ministry, the Jubilee Ministry assists with recruitment and publicity.
A quarterly newsletter to inform, inspire and entertain. Contact the Jubilee Office to contribute items for use in the newsletter.
The participants meet on an as-needed basis and do presentations for church programs and community organizations.
