Yes. All sensitive financial information is stored with bank level security. All information is encrypted and never stored onsite. Our banking partner abides by Level 1 PCI compliance, which is a set of rules stated by credit card companies, and Level 1 PCI is the highest possible rating.
How will my phone number be used?
Your phone number is used only to make donating as easy as possible. It will only be used in the donation process to initiate donations and receive confirmations. It will never be sold or traded.
Does my donation show up on my cell phone bill?
No. You will enter your debit/credit card and the donation will be billed directly to your credit card or debited from your checking account. Text to Give is not associated with your cell phone provider and will not appear on your cell phone bill.
Is there a particular format for the amount texted?
No. You can use whole dollars and/or cents. It can contain a dollar sign, but the dollar sign is not required. For example, a gift of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars can simply be texted like this: 150
Can I set up a repeating donation with text to give?
No. Text to Give is always initiated with a single text of an amount to the number. If you are interested in setting up a repeating donation, visit www.aumc.net/giving/onlinegiving/ and click on Give.
Do I have to enter my credit/debit card information every time I use text to give?
No. You only have to enter this information the first time you donate. After the initial donation, you simply text the amount to the number and it will charge your credit/debit card.
What if I want to change the linked card?
If you want to change the linked card you originally set up, text the word RESET to the Text to Give number. This will disassociate your card with your text giving. The next time you want to give by text, text an amount to the Text to Give number and you will be sent a URL to enter a new form of payment. This is also the process if you receive a new card on the same account with a new expiration date.
Will I receive a statement for my text giving?
Yes. Text giving is tracked and posted to your account along with any other form of giving. All donations will show up on one consolidated statement for your convenience.
