AUMC
has been sending international
Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) teams
since 1989, with our first
international mission team to
Brazil. Since then, we have sent
numerous teams one or more times to
Puerto Rico, Panama, Venezuela,
Mexico, Bolivia, and Ecuador. The
Work Area on Missions plans and
executes these trips with support
from AUMC's budget, donated funds
and proceeds from periodic Missions
Auction.

The Bolivia Bridge Project
During
AUMC's 11 year partnership with our
sister village of Quesimpuco,
Bolivia, we have been blessed to
work with the people to establish a
healthcare clinic, boarding school,
and Christian church in this remote
Andean settlement. It has now
become apparent that the time is
ripe to open up these resources to
the villages surrounding Quesimpuco.
Access is hindered for much of the
year by a strong river which divides
Quesimpuco and its neighbors.
AUMC has committed to working with
the people of Quesimpuco, as well as
SIFAT and Bridges to Prosperity, to
build a simple footbridge over the
river so that all those on the other
side may safely and quickly access
the necessities of healthcare,
education, and most of all,
knowledge of the love of Jesus
Christ.
The
bridge is scheduled to be completed
in October 2008, but we still need
your help. Please consider
sponsoring a foot of the bridge for
$100. If that's more than you
can afford, consider going in with a
group of friends to help bring the
people of this region one step
closer to having access to the
saving knowledge of the Gospel.

currently available for locals to
cross the deep ravine separating
Quesimpuco from dozens of nearby
villages)
