Vertical University (Youth Sunday School)
Vertical University meets on Sunday mornings at 9:30 and 11:00 in the Youth Center. A variety of studies are offered for students to choose from—Old and New Testament Overviews, video-based studies, and biblical topics studies. Vertical U follows the school year with 2 semesters and several 4-week sessions per semester. In this setting, students will grow in their biblical understanding and deepen their relationship with Christ.
Fall Semester ends on December 18. Spring Semester begins on January 8. Please register for Spring classes by December 18. Registration cards are available in the Youth Office and in the Youth Center. For more information, please contact Amy Kelsey at 826-8800 ext. 223 or amyk@aumc.net.
MYF
MYF is Vertical Ministries' weekly community gathering and the foundation of our Student Ministry. Each MYF is geared to connect and engage students using worship, a challenging message, and maybe even a skit or a game.
- 5-6:30 p.m. : Jr. High MYF in the Youth Center (Epworth building)
- 6:30-7:00 p.m.: Combined Jr. High and Sr. High supper in the Epworth Snack Bar (cost: $3)
- 7:00-8:15 p.m.: Sr. High MYF in the Youth Center
D-Groups |
These are our small groups designed to guide students to a deeper, more passionate relationship with Jesus. While MYF and Sunday school are great "plug in points" for students, we consider D-Groups to be our next level of involvement for those who want to commit to growing in their relationship with Jesus with the support of an encouraging small group community. D-Groups are gender-specific and grade-specific, and are led by adult and college leaders. The groups meet either on Tuesday or Wednesday nights, September through April, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
Many 2011-2012 D-Groups are full. If a student is interested in joining a D-Group this school year, please contact the Youth Office to find out if there are any openings. 334-826-8800 ext. 223 or amyk@aumc.net.
