Prayer is the foundation of everything we do at AUMC. It is our joy to turn our hearts to God and speak to Him on a daily basis and know that He listens and responds. We feel that prayer is our primary way of communicating with our Lord, and we feel blessed to serve a God who lovingly allows us to interact with Him in such an intimate way. We have several prayer ministries, all designed to lift up those connected to our church and beyond.

Prayer Pagers

There are two opportunities to participate in this ministry designed to lift up people with long term situations. Trained individuals deliver prayer pagers to those who either have requested or determined by staff to be in need of a pager. An additional team lifts up the individual/family/situation in prayer and then calls the prayer pager number so those in need will be reminded they are in people’s prayers and are loved.  For more information or to request a prayer pager, please call JoAnn Oven at the church office (334) 826-8800.   current prayer pager numbers

Prayer Chain

Participants receive a phone call when someone shares a critical prayer need with the church staff and requests a prayer chain message to go out. Participants pray for the specific need and call the next person on the chain. There are different chains for day/night. To be added to the prayer chain, please call the church office at (334) 826-8800.

Prayer Vigil

Throughout Sunday mornings, participants pray privately in half hour time slots for the worship services, ministers, Sunday school classes, teachers and other ministries of the church.

Prayer Partners

Participants are partnered with a Sunday school class, child, or youth to lift up in prayer. There are also times throughout the year to interact with the individual or class.

Prayer Path

During the season of Lent, a experiential prayer path is designed so participants can focus on different aspects of prayer as they move through this holy time.
