Children

Wonder of Worship (W.O.W.)

This program is designed to introduce young children to the wonder of worship. Children in the 4 year old Sunday school Class or Kindergarten may participate. They sit with their parents during the first part of the service, then leave to spend time together in learning and play. New children are welcome any Sunday!

WIT 123

WIT 123 is designed to introduce first through third graders to the various aspects of our worship services at AUMC. We feel that if children grow up understanding the meaning behind our worship services, it will help them connect in worship services throughout their lives. Children sit with their parents during the first part of the service, then leave to participate in WIT 123, which takes place in Room ___. Parents are asked to accompany their children if it is their first time to participate.

Acolytes

Acolytes are children in fifth and sixth grade who participate in worship by assisting ministers with various worship elements such as Holy Communion and the lighting of the candles. Training for acolytes is held each August to help children become familiar with the various aspects of our traditional worship services.  If you have any questions regarding acolytes in worship at AUMC, please contact the church office at 826-8800.
